Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is chiropractic care?
Chiropractic care is a non-invasive and holistic form of healthcare that is primarily done by hand with the help of a few different instruments. Chiropractors specialize in any conditions involved with the neuromusculoskeletal system, which includes your entire nervous system, joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and bones. A chiropractic adjustment is a high velocity, low amplitude force targeted at a joint space to improve range of motion and physical function. These adjustments can be performed in all joints of the body including the spine, jaw, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands, hips, knees, ankles and feet. At Peak we like to pair our adjustments with different forms of muscle work to provide further relief and benefit for the patient. Chiropractic care can also provide great benefits to the nervous system as a whole. The hands-on adjustment helps to regulate and restore the function of the nervous system.
  • What techniques do you use?
While we primarily utilize the diversified technique, we are also trained in Thompson drop and Gonstead. We believe in utilizing any and all technique that is going to provide the greatest benefits for our patients. Assessing tone (muscle tension) and motion palpation of the patient is what allows us to determine which areas to adjust and which techniques will work best.

  • Can chiropractic care help me if I am not currently in pain?
Absolutely! This is what we call "wellness visits". Chiropractic care is a preventative and necessary treatment to fully optimize ones health. You do not need to be in pain to receive chiropractic care (unless you are paying with insurance, as they do not cover wellness care). In fact, a majority of the American population has bad posture that puts our spine in a position to negatively impact our bodies. At Peak we can perform postural analysis during the first visit to help us fully understand the root cause of pain or discomfort. With that information we can perform adjustments, exercises, stretches, and so much more to improve posture and daily living. Our recommendations may be different for every patient due to several different factors like posture, age, and body composition. However, at the very least we will almost always recommend coming in for a visit bi-weekly or monthly visit to help with muscle tension, nervous system regulation, and achieve wellness. Plus, it feels great!
  • Does Peak offer anything for athletes?
Chiropractic care is especially beneficial for individuals whose bodies are constantly experiencing stress through athletics or training, such as CrossFit athletes! • Do you offer any sort of training for local youth?
Yes! We are currently offering a summer performance training camp held in the Lead-Deadwood area starting at the end of May. This will be a 10 week program focused on agility, speed, and strength training to create more resilient and injury free athletes. Contact Dr. Jett for the Peak Summer Performance Training Camp for more information! • Do you accept insurance?
Peak is a cash-based practice that accepts both HSA & FSA. We are not directly in network with any insurance, however, if your specific plan covers out-of-network chiropractic care or physical therapy we will happily provide you with a Superbill, which is a medical receipt. You can then submit this to your insurance provider where you can be personally reimbursed outside of the office.
  • What are your rates?
Rates are dependent on services that are required and or necessary. These rates can differ due to exam fees (1st visit), what passive and active modalities were used, or if you are currently on a recommended care plan or not. Different membership packages will include combinations of exams, adjustments, passive modalities, and active care for each visit.
  • What payment options do I have?
We are a cash based practice, meaning we are not in network with any insurance companies currently so all services will be payed at the time of service. We accept payments of cash, check, debit, credit, HSA, or FSA cards.
